don't kiss & tell.

I wouldn’t have predicted that day 1 would have been so onerous. Last night (after work at the restaurant) I went out for drinks with one of my besties, SM. SM is a woman about town, & by that I mean, she knows tons of foxy dudes. Wouldn’t you know that one of the most attractive men I’ve seen in a long time began chatting it up with us? (SM & he are friends… he’s not just some random creep. Although his buddy was a COMPLETE douche-nozzle.) This guy has a killer approach. He’s got a pretty thick accent, so obviously I asked him where he was from. SERAJEVO. Well. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a huge fan of that accent. However, his story is captivating. He secretly escaped from Bosnia, fifteen years ago. He was in the (mandatory) military, & befriended some Canadian soldiers who helped him defect. He couldn’t even say good-bye to his family. He sat in bars as grenades rained down on he & his friends. He watched his home get ripped apart. (He never killed anyone. It was one of the first things I asked him. Is that weird? People who’ve killed fascinate me. Not in a creepy-murderer way, just a self-defense way. Like cops. Or ninjas!) This story (coming from an attractive man), and a few vodka/sodas (that he paid for!) while burning the midnight oil? That could land me straight into a fierce make-out session. Possibly something even sassier. I’m happy to report that the prospect of this endeavor is sexier to me than sucking-face with a hot refugee.

Good job! This is Toronto. 52% of the population was born outside Canada. There will be other hot refugees.
